Roderick Covlin: Guilty Deadbeat Father

Roderick Covlin is an unemployed stock broker obsessed with playing backgammon who has been found guilty of asphyxiating his estranged wife who was found lifeless in the bathtub of her W. 68th St. apartment on Dec. 31, 2009. She was an adviser for the financial firm UBS, and was expected to write him out of her will just hours after her body was found. Roderick Covlin was a womanizer who was emotionally and physically abusive toward his wife of 10 years. Jurors also heard from an ex-girlfriend that he plotted to kill his parents in 2012 because they planned to take custody of the couple’s two kids.
